gegründet 1969 in Toronto, bestehend aus Felix Partz (1945–1994), Jorge Zontal (1944–1994) und AA Bronson (geb. 1946)

Das Künstlerkollektiv General Idea übte sich in subversiver Kritik an Kunst und Kunstsystem. Thematisch setzten sie sich mit Konsumkultur, Massenmedien, Geniekult, sozialen Ungleichheiten, queerer Identität, Kunstwirtschaft und nicht zuletzt mit der AIDS-Krise auseinander.
