Der Kunstverein in Hamburg lädt herzlich zur Eröffnung der Ausstellung deutschland von Coumba Samba am Freitag, den 23. Mai um 19 Uhr ein.
Coumba Samba arbeitet mit Skulptur, Installation, Musik und Performance. Ihre Werke beschäftigen sich mit der Zirkulation von Objekten, Materialien und Ideologien. Sie untersucht, wie Macht in Wissen, Institutionen, Zeichen und Farben eingeschrieben ist, und hinterfragt deren Umlauf und Erhalt anhand globalisierter Infrastrukturen.
Für den Kunstverein in Hamburg hat Samba eine neue, raumgreifende Installation entwickelt, in der die rigide Geometrie und die opaken Bewegungsmuster des globalen Handels in Verbindung gesetzt und hinterfragt werden. Anhand modularer Architektur verschränkt Samba die Geschichte der geometrischen Abstraktion mit globalen Lieferketten und deren zunehmend expandierendem Abdruck auf vormals vermeintlich unberührte Lebenswelten.

The Kunstverein in Hamburg cordially invites you to the opening of the exhibition deutschland by Coumba Samba on Friday, May 23 at 7 pm.
Coumba Samba works in sculpture, installation, music, and performance. Her work reflects the circulation of objects, material, and ideology whereby she examines how power is inscribed in knowledge, institutions, signs, and colours by interrogating their circulation and preservation on the basis of globalised infrastructure.
Samba will develop a new, expansive installation for the Kunstverein in Hamburg, which simultaneously links and scrutinises the rigid geometry and opaque movement patterns of global trade. Using modular architecture, Samba interweaves the history of abstract painting and the modernist grid with global supply chains and their increasingly expanding imprint on lived experience.
